Founded in 1989
The story begins in 1989 when Mr. Théo Gosselin founded the company with a clear mission: to provide quality tires and outstanding service. A self-taught and determined businessman, he quickly grew the business thanks to his passion for a job well done. At different moments in its history, the company could also count on the involvement of the Gosselin family. The small business rapidly gained momentum and added tire installation the following year. Within only a few years, it expanded from 3 to 7 service bays, becoming one of the most important tire retailers in Laval and the surrounding area. Its vast inventory, the quality of its products and, above all, its dedication to customer service helped it earn a leading place in the market.
New leadership, new ideas
In 2010, the company entered a new chapter in its history. André Gosselin, owner for 10 years, partnered with Eric Lafrance, a key employee who had been with the company for more than 8 years. This new leadership brought fresh energy and ambition. The business moved into its current building at 1500 boul. Saint-Elzéar O. and expanded its services with the addition of a full automotive mechanical department. At that time, the company adopted the name Théo Gosselin Pneus | Mécanique, further strengthening its position as a major automotive service provider in Laval.
Fiber box division
In 2013, Théo Gosselin Pneus | Mécanique continued to diversify by launching a fiber box division. This new service allows the company to design and manufacture custom service units tailored to the needs of commercial clients.
Major acquisitions and expansion
In 2014, the acquisition of the mechanical garage Atelier d’auto J. Bastien marked another important step forward. This expansion strengthened the company’s team of automotive technicians under the supervision of Charles Dubreuil, a seasoned expert recognized for his precision and passion for quality workmanship.
As the company continued to grow, it joined the NAPA AUTOPRO network, known for its high standards and premium automotive parts. To better serve its business clients, Théo Gosselin Pneus | Mécanique also added a Discount Rental Center to its range of services.
Continuing its momentum, the company became a member of the Ici Pneu group in 2017, a banner founded by Groupe Touchette. This partnership provides access to an even larger tire inventory, allowing the company to offer more choice, better availability and even greater service to its customers.
The Lafrance family: second generation
Since 2017, visionary owner Eric Lafrance has continued to grow the company alongside his children and his partner. Driven by the desire to make Théo Gosselin Pneus | Mécanique stand out and constantly raise the bar, he continues to develop new projects and initiatives. From the Gosselin family to the Lafrance family, the company remains guided by the same mission: to provide quality service, build trust and always exceed customer expectations.
